History

The history of Holst, Law Firm dates back to the beginning of the last century.

In 1971, two Århus-based law firms (established in 1905 and 1911, respectively) merged to form a new firm and set up business at the address Frue Kirkeplads 4, Århus.

The purpose of this merger was to establish a forward thinking and innovative firm without disregarding, however, traditional virtues of the legal profession such as professionalism, quality and ethics. This principle remains the cornerstone of Holst, Law Firm's core values.

The law firm named Frue Kirkeplads 4 then changed its name to Munch Andersen Law Firm, then to Aros Advokater (following another merger with two other Århus-based law firms) and finally ended up as the Århus-branch of Bech-Bruun Law Firm.

In 2007 – after more than 35 years of residence at the address Frue Kirkeplads 4 – a number of persons, including all remaining members of the original 1971 founders, chose to leave Bech-Bruun and established Holst, Law Firm.
