Litigation, arbitration and mediation

The legal professionals of Holst, Law Firm represent our clients before the Danish town courts, the High Courts, the Maritime and Commercial Court in Copenhagen and the Supreme Court. Six attorneys at Holst, enjoy a right of audience before the Danish Supreme Court and they are all widely experienced litigators, including in Supreme Court cases.

Today many commercial law disputes are settled by arbitration. Holst, Law Firm also has experienced litigators that specialise in this particular field, and some of our attorneys have acted as arbitrators as well.

To us it is of major importance that the litigators of Holst, are highly specialised within one or several legal areas. This enables us to provide the best possible client representation as we can offer to our clients the benefits of us combining our vast experience within a particular legal field with our litigation competencies. This is why we do not operate with one single group of attorneys that only engage in the conduction of legal proceedings.

A decisive factor to us when evaluating and providing advice on the settlement of legal disputes is that disputes that seem unnecessary or may be avoided – depending on the needs and desires of the specific client - are not taken to court if there is a possibility that such dispute may be settled amicably. This philosophy implies that, in the vast majority of cases, disputes are settled by way of negotiation and the conclusion of settlement agreements, maybe on the basis of a structured settlement procedure, where this is deemed to be to the benefit of our clients.
