Marketing Privacy Statement of Holst, Advokater

This Statement explains how we process the data we collect from you when you sign up for an event or a newsletter, and what rights you have in that regard.

1. Data controller

2. Collection

In the context of events and newsletters, we process only those of your personal data that you gave us when you signed up for the event or newsletter. We recommend that you do not share sensitive or confidential personal data when signing up or communicating with us about events or newsletters.

If you do need to send us confidential or sensitive personal data, for example if you want to ask about accessibility for the disabled or inform us about allergies, we recommend that you write to our secure email at sikkerpost@holst-law.com.

3. Processing of personal data

When you sign up for one of our newsletters or events, we will generally only process ordinary personal data such as your name, contact details, position, and place of employment.

In the case of events, our processing of personal data is necessary in order for us to register and manage your participation. The legal basis for processing is our legitimate interest in staging the event and thereby promoting Holst, Advokater as, for example, a potential employer, see Article 6.1(f) GDPR.

In the case of newsletters, processing is necessary in order to send you the newsletter, and the legal basis is your consent, see Article 6.1.(a) GDPR.

4. Recipients and third countries

We keep your personal data confidential and will not disclose them to any third party unless we are legally required to do so or unless such disclosure is necessary in order to host the event.

In rare cases, you may find that your personal data will be shared with, for example, third-party co-organisers of the event, who will then process your data for the same purpose and on the same legal basis as ours. Where that is the case, it will be clearly disclosed in our marketing of the event.

We will not transfer your personal data to countries outside the EU/EEA without your consent.

5. Security

We process your personal data in full compliance with the GDPR and the Danish Data Protection Act. We have taken appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data against loss, manipulation, unauthorised access, etc., and continually adjust those measures as technology advances.

6. Retention period

As a general rule, Holst, Advokater will erase your personal data when their processing is no longer required for the purpose set out in para. 3 above. Data you have supplied signing up for an event will therefore be erased as soon as the event is over, except where you have consented to prolonged retention, and data you have supplied to subscribe to newsletters will be erased as soon as you withdraw your consent and unsubscribe to the newsletter.

There may be instances, however, where special statutory rules such as, for example, the Danish Bookkeeping Act obligate or entitle us to longer retention.

Data may also be processed and retained for longer if anonymised.

7. Your rights

You have the right to:

  • request access, rectification or erasure of your personal data;
  • request a restriction on the processing of your personal data;
  • object to the otherwise lawful processing of your personal data;
  • object to automated individual decision-making, including profiling;
  • object to the processing of your personal data for direct marketing purposes;
  • withdraw your consent, at any time, if the processing of your personal data is based on such consent;
  • receive a copy of your personal data in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format and to transmit those data to another controller or authority;
  • file a complaint with the Danish Data Protection Agency, e.g. via dt@datatilsynet.dk.

8. Changes to this Statement

We reserve the right to update and amend this Privacy Statement if the law changes or if new or improved technical solutions, features, etc., are introduced.
