Marketing Privacy Policy of Holst, Advokater

This policy provides you with information on how we as the data controller process the data we obtain when you sign up for an event or a newsletter and which rights you have in that connection.

1. Data controller

Holst, Advokater is the data controller when processing your personal data. Holst, Advokater is a law firm as follows:

Holst, Advokater
Hans Broges Gade 2
DK-8100 Aarhus C

Indiavej 1
DK-2100 Copenhagen Ø

CBR No. 35680470

This policy applies to both places of business.

If you have any questions regarding the processing of your personal data or if you wish to exercise any of the rights mentioned under 7 below, please contact us at info@holst-law.com.

2. Collection

In connection with the administration of events and newsletters, we only process personal data about you, which you have provided in connection with your registration. We recommend that you never share sensitive or confidential personal data in connection with registration or any other communication.

If you need to send us confidential or sensitive personal data, for example questions pertaining to facilities for disabled or information on allergies, we recommend that you send such through secure email to sikkerpost@holst-law.com.

3. Processing of personal data

If you subscribe for a newsletter or register for one of our events, we will generally only process ordinary personal data, such as your name, contact details, position and place of employment.

Our processing of personal data in connection with events is necessary in order to administrate your participation. Processing of personal data is based on our legitimate interest in being able to provide the event, thereby exposing Holst, Advokater, including, among others, as a potential place of work, cf. Article 6.1(f) of the GDPR.

Processing in connection with newsletter releases is carried out for the purpose of submitting newsletters and on the basis of your consent, cf. Article 6.1.(a) of the GDPR.

4. Recipients and third countries

We process your personal data confidentially and will not disclose your personal data to third parties, unless we are obliged to do so, or it is necessary in order to hold the event.

In rare cases, your personal data may be shared with, for example, external co-organisers of the event, who only process the data for the same purpose and on the same legal basis as Holst, Advokater. In such case, it will be clearly stated when promoting the event.

We will not transfer your personal data to countries outside the EU/EEA without your consent.

5. Security

We process your personal data in accordance with the GDPR and the Danish Data Protection Act. We have taken appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your data against, for example, loss, manipulation or unauthorised access. We continually adapt our security measures to meet ongoing technological developments.

6. Retention period

Generally, we shall erase your personal data once we no longer need to process them to comply with the purpose as set out under 3 above. Data obtained in connection with registering for an event will therefore be deleted immediately after the event has ended, unless you have consented that we may retain your contact information for longer. Data obtained in connection with subscribing for newsletters will be deleted immediately after the consent is withdrawn, and the newsletter will thereby be unsubscribed.

According to special statutory provisions, including, for example, the Danish Bookkeeping Act, we may be obliged or entitled to retain data for longer.

Data may also be processed and retained for longer if such are anonymised.

7. Your rights

You have the right to:

  • request access, rectification or erasure of your personal data;
  • request for restriction of the processing of your personal data;
  • object to an otherwise lawful processing of your personal data;
  • oppose against becoming subject to decisions based solely on automated processing, including profiling;
  • object to the processing of your personal data for direct marketing purposes;
  • withdraw your consent at any time, if the processing of your personal data is based on this;
  • receive a copy of your personal data in a concise, transparent, intelligible and easily accessible form, and to transmit the data to another company or authority;
  • file a complaint with the Danish Data Protection Agency, for example through dt@datatilsynet.dk.

If you wish to exercise your rights as described above, you are welcome to contact us at any time at info@holst-law.dk. In this regard, we require that you provide us with sufficient information enabling us to process your enquiry, including your full name and email address, so that we can identify you and respond to your request.

8. Policy changes

We reserve the right to update and amend this privacy policy if amendments in legislation be effected, if new technical solutions arise, or if new or improved features or similar occur.
