Municipal and regional law
Legal advice, litigation, and inter-municipal reimbursement
Having served as regular advisers to Danish municipalities and regions for years, we have profound insight into the special rules and conditions to which they are subject. We advise on general municipal and regional law (the ‘local government mandate’, the express and implied authority for municipal activities) as well as on a broad selection of legal issues impacting municipalities and regions.
Our breadth of experience also includes advice on municipal participation in ‘section 60’ (inter-municipal) enterprises and on the establishment and operation of municipal companies, and we leverage that experience to advise authorities and businesses (e.g. public transport companies) on any and all issues where public and private law intersect. We also have considerable experience representing municipal and regional clients in court, not least on actions pertaining to health and social law. For example, we rank among the nation’s foremost legal specialists in cases relating to inter-municipal reimbursement.
Our experience and expertise allow us to assist municipalities and regions at all stages, from planning to advising and dialogue and, if necessary, litigation/dispute resolution.
